Bengaluru: In a major breakthrough, the Byadarahalli Police have arrested Nagaraj, alias Rihan (32), a resident of Katsandra, Tumkur, accused of robbing homes under the guise of repairing TV-dish cables. The police recovered stolen goods worth approximately ₹20 lakh, including 300 grams of gold jewelry and 1 kg of silver items.
Nagaraj’s method involved posing as a TV cable repairman and targeting homes, particularly those with single occupants, to steal valuables. Investigators discovered that he sold the stolen items through his wife.
The arrest was made after a 10-month manhunt, following a complaint regarding a theft near Chetan Circle, Badarahalli. Fingerprint experts matched Nagaraj’s prints at the crime scene, leading to his capture near Kodigehalli Bridge on Nice Road.
This arrest marks a significant development in solving a series of burglaries, providing relief to the affected households.
