In a significant operation, Bengaluru’s law enforcement officials detained eight individuals across four distinct cases involving the illegal distribution of drugs, including MDMA and hashish oil, with a total value of nearly Rs 60 lakh. The arrests were disclosed by Bengaluru Police Commissioner B Dayananda during his routine press briefing on Friday.

The Konanakunte police initiated the first bust, capturing two individuals near Doddakallasandra. Authorities confiscated 1.122 kg of ganja, 3.44 kg of hashish oil, and a vehicle worth Rs 46.10 lakh. Upon questioning, the suspects admitted to purchasing the drugs from an unnamed source in Odisha and reselling them in Bengaluru at inflated prices. A further investigation is underway to locate the supplier.

In a separate incident, the Central Crime Branch (CCB) arrested an individual in Ram Rao Layout for trafficking in MDMA crystals and ganja. The police seized 55.20 grams of MDMA, 1.905 kg of ganja, and impounded a vehicle, all worth a combined Rs 10.50 lakh.

The Whitefield police also captured two suspects near Nallurhalli Lake, seizing 12.9 kg of ganja and a car valued at Rs 1.80 lakh. The pair disclosed that they obtained the drugs from Odisha and Andhra Pradesh for distribution within the city.

Finally, the Devanahalli police arrested three individuals and confiscated 3.2 kg of ganja, a two-wheeler, and two mobile phones, with a total value of Rs 1.80 lakh.
