Bengaluru: Bengaluru City Commissioner of Police (CoP) Bhaskar Rao has announced that soon the city police will soon join the popular video-sharing social media app TikTok.
“The idea is to create awareness about law and order, apart from helping the public reach us easily,” he explained.
Once the Bengaluru police open their TikTok account, they will be the first police department in the state to have a verified TikTok account. The Bengaluru police are already very active on social media and have a vibrant presence on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram etc.
Several police departments across the country have been using social media to enable the public to reach out to them, especially to lodge complaints. Social media has been beneficial for the public to raise issues of importance, apart from allowing the police to make important announcements.
