Bengaluru: The City police raided the houses of 209 rowdy-sheeters and searched for weapons on the morning of Friday August 26. The raid held was ahead of the Gowri-Ganesha festival to avoid any untoward incidents.
According to sources, the police said that teams from North Division police conducted the raids early in the morning. Six of the rowdy sheeters who are now absconding were also issued arrest warrants by the court.
Some of them were arrested as a preventive measure, and after being warned not to engage in any anti-social activities during the festival, they were released.
The houses of rowdy sheeters were also searched by West Division police four days ago, and lethal weapons were recovered.
