In a shocking turn of events, a college lecturer in Bengaluru was physically attacked by three individuals after he protested their act of dumping garbage on a public street. The assault occurred near the parking zone of JHBS Layout, where the educator reportedly asked the men to refrain from tossing waste, especially sharp glass fragments, onto the road.

The victim, Aarabindo Gupta, who teaches at a private institution, later posted a selfie video on social media narrating his experience. His face bore visible signs of injury. “I merely requested them not to discard dangerous trash on the road, but instead, they pounced on me,” he said. Gupta claimed two attackers restrained him while a third repeatedly struck him with a helmet.

The professor labelled the assault as savage and unprovoked. He lamented the waning sense of public responsibility and growing lawlessness in the city. “Bengaluru was once regarded as one of the most secure cities in India. Incidents like this damage that image,” he stated.

A formal complaint was lodged at the local police station and an FIR has been registered. However, the police have yet to make any arrests. Authorities mentioned that they are reviewing the sequence of events before proceeding further.

This incident comes shortly after another violent episode in the city involving an Indian Air Force officer accused of attempted murder during a road rage altercation.
