Bengaluru: In a tragic incident early Monday, a Bengaluru realtor lost his life after a head-on collision with a tempo traveller near Kogilu Cross.

Kiran Kumar (36), a resident of Rachenahalli, was travelling from Bagalur Cross to Kogilu Cross on his TVS iQube electric scooter along Ballari Road’s service lane. Around 1:20 am, a tempo traveller approaching from the opposite direction collided directly with his scooter near Collins Aerospace.

According to Yelahanka traffic police, Kumar suffered critical injuries to his head and face, leading to his death on the spot. “The tempo driver attempted to flee with the vehicle, but the public intervened and halted him nearby. However, he managed to escape, abandoning the tempo,” a traffic police officer stated.

Fortunately, the tempo was not carrying any passengers during the crash. Authorities have since reached out to the owner of the vehicle, who has reportedly agreed to appear at the police station on Tuesday for questioning. A full investigation is underway to track down and apprehend the absconding driver.
