A two-wheeler, valued at no more than ₹50,000, accumulated an astounding ₹1.61 lakh in traffic penalties in Bengaluru. The City Market Traffic Police apprehended the vehicle with registration number KA 05 JX 1344 on Monday, revealing 311 unpaid fines dating back to February 2023.

The rider, identified as Sudeep, had been consistently breaking traffic laws but managed to dodge paying penalties. The registered owner, Periya Swamy, has now been issued a legal notice regarding the offenses. The violations ranged from failing to wear a helmet to disregarding traffic signals.

The police were prompted to take action after multiple complaints surfaced on the social media platform X. At least three grievances had been raised against the same vehicle over the past year.

Authorities have urged vehicle owners to clear pending fines promptly to avoid legal consequences. They also emphasized the importance of responsible driving and adherence to traffic regulations to ensure road safety.

This case highlights the effectiveness of digital surveillance and public reporting in enforcing traffic discipline.
