Bengaluru: The State Government has decided to consider students applying for re-evaluation even if they get more than ‘one point’ as the system of re-evaluation of the answer sheets of the II PU Mains examination has been improved.

The new rule will be applicable from the ‘Annual examination’ to be held in March 2023.

As per the existing rule, a student who applied for revaluation was considered only if he or she secured 6 per cent or more marks out of the total marks in the paper. If the marks were less than 6 per cent, they would not be considered.

In today’s competitive era, every point is important. In this context, the State government has taken a ‘student-friendly’ step considering even ‘one point’, said School Education and Literacy Minister and Kodagu District In-charge B.C. Nagesh said in a statement.

Steps have been taken to amend the ‘Karnataka Pre-University Education State Level Public Examination Rules- 1997’ in this regard soon, the Minister stated.
