Bengaluru: Shah lauds Himveers for dedicated service to nation

Bengaluru: Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah inaugurated the newly constructed office and residential buildings of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) and laid the foundation stone for a Central Detective Training Institute (CDTI) of the Bureau of Police Research and Development (BPR&D) on Saturday December 31.

In his address, Shah lauded the Himveers of ITBP for their dedicated service to the Nation and said the Government has been undertaking all possible steps to make the service conditions of the jawans better. He said that ITBP serves in very difficult conditions and the Nation knows the jawans as ‘Himveers’.

Speaking further he said that the ITBP has been doing yeomen service to the Nation by keeping the toughest borders on the Himalayas safe in inhospitable conditions. He said that he is never worried about the India-China border as he knows that the ITBP personnel are guarding the borders there and because of this, no one can occupy even an inch of India’s land. People have bestowed ITBP jawans the title of ‘Himveer’ which is bigger than Padma Shri or Padma Vibhushan.

He said that the Narendra Modi Government is providing better facilities to the CAPFs and other police forces.

Prahlad Joshi, Union Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, Coal and Mines, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai, Home Minister Araga Jnanendra, Dr. K. Sudhakar, Health and Family Welfare and Medical Education Minister, Anish Dayal Singh, DG ITBP and Balaji Srivastava, DG BPR&D were also present on the occasion.
