Bengaluru: State Cabinet approves Karnataka Renewable Energy Policy-2027

Bengaluru: The State Cabinet has approved the Karnataka Renewable Energy Policy – 2027, which has extended the limit of the existing 3.5 acres of land to four acres for setting up a new solar plant. Similarly the permitted commission limit for the wind power project has been reduced from three years to two years.

Addressing a press conference after the Cabinet Meeting, Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister J. C. Madhuswamy said that the new policy is being implemented to increase the manufacturing capacity in the renewable energy sector and facilitate investors. Earlier, the policy was framed till 2022.

“Now a new policy has been formulated for a period of five years till 2027,” he said.
