Authorities have confirmed that a case of unnatural death has been registered and an investigation is underway. Early reports suggest that Pavana was struggling with an addiction to online gaming, which led her to gamble away money meant for her college fees. The police speculate that the financial stress and inability to repay the lost amount may have contributed to her tragic decision.

Pavana was a first-year B.Sc student at the university. With a three-day holiday leaving the hostel largely vacant, she was alone on Sunday night when the incident occurred.

A note was discovered in Pavana’s room, and following a post-mortem examination, her remains were returned to her grieving family. It has come to light that Pavana’s parents had provided her with ₹15,000 for her college fees, which she subsequently lost in online games.

The case continues to be investigated by the Highgrounds police station.
