
Bengaluru: Sub-Registrar Dismissed from Service After Bribery Conviction
Sub-Registrar Bhaskar Siddaramappa Chaura has been dismissed from service with immediate effect following his conviction in a bribery case. The dismissal order was issued on Monday by Commissioner of Registration and Stamps, Dayananda K.A.
Chaura was apprehended by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) in 2019 while accepting a bribe of ₹15,000 to register a land title. He was subsequently found guilty and sentenced to three years in prison, along with a fine of ₹5 lakh, by the Additional City Civil Court on Friday.
According to the dismissal order, Chaura has been removed from government service under Rule 8 of the Karnataka Civil Service Rules, 1957. At the time of his dismissal, he was serving as the Deputy Registrar in Holenarasipur. The dismissal is effective immediately.
