Bengaluru techie ends life over health woes, startup losses
A 30-year-old software engineer, Mayank Rajani, allegedly died by suicide after jumping from the 12th-floor corridor of his apartment near Kudlu, reportedly due to chronic health issues and financial losses in his startup.
Originally from Lucknow, Rajani had moved to Bengaluru in 2018 and was working for a tech firm near his residence. He had recently undergone spinal surgery and was on medication for persistent pain, which also led to occasional mental distress.
The tragedy occurred around 6 AM on March 4 while his girlfriend was asleep inside the apartment. The building’s security guard, alerted by a loud noise, found Rajani lying in a pool of blood. His family, notified by the police, arrived in Bengaluru later that day. They filed a statement confirming they had no suspicions of foul play.
Authorities revealed that Rajani had invested both his savings and borrowed funds into his startup, suffering significant financial setbacks. A senior police official stated, “His family believes he took this extreme step due to struggles with his health and business failures.” The police have registered an unnatural death case and are investigating further.
