Bengaluru techie frustrated by road conditions, blames infrastructure
A tech professional from Bengaluru has expressed his discontent with the city’s deteriorating road conditions, which have left him embarrassed to invite his international friends over. The roads near his home are in such poor condition that he worries they will create a negative perception of India for his visitors.
The issue was highlighted in a post shared by the community group Citizens Movement on X (formerly Twitter). In the post, the techie reveals, “My friends from Europe and the US are visiting for the 100 km World Championship on December 7th. I wanted to invite them to my home, but I can’t because the roads are so bad.”
He added, “I don’t want to show them where I live – it would give a terrible impression of India. I’m frustrated and questioning my decision to move to Bengaluru from Europe. When will our roads be up to global standards?”
The post quickly went viral, sparking online discussions. While some users criticized the government for the city’s inadequate infrastructure, others felt the techie’s frustration was misplaced.
One user suggested that reverse migration is becoming less feasible due to Bengaluru’s poor infrastructure, including traffic, noise, and unreliable public transport. Another user blamed the techie for not properly researching the area before purchasing a home.
Overall, the debate continues, with many lamenting Bengaluru’s ongoing infrastructural challenges.
