In a shocking incident near Bengaluru’s outskirts, the Devanahalli police have detained four individuals accused of abducting and murdered a 19-year-old delivery executive, Preetham R. The arrested men have been identified as Srikanth (22), Sanjay (23), Charan (21), and Shivakumar (22). According to investigators, Srikanth was the prime instigator, allegedly driven by anger over Preetham’s interest in a girl related to him.
Preetham, employed by a quick commerce company, reportedly confided in a friend named Moni about his feelings for a girl from Gantiganahalli village. Police inquiries revealed that Srikanth had assaulted Preetham a week earlier, warning him to distance himself from the girl. However, tensions escalated.
On the night of May 2 around 10:30 pm, the four accused allegedly abducted Preetham, physically assaulted him, and subsequently left his lifeless body behind the Government Lower Primary School in Niragantepalya. A local resident discovered the body the following morning and alerted authorities.
Preetham’s father, Ramachandra, lodged a formal complaint, and swift action from law enforcement led to the arrest of the suspects. All four have been charged with kidnapping and murder and are currently in judicial custody pending further investigation.
This tragic incident has sparked outrage and concern over youth violence and escalating personal vendettas in the region.
