Bengaluru: Thieves caught after 22 years in City

Bengaluru: After a gap of 22 years, three persons from Tamil Nadu, who were involved in thefts in schools and colleges, have been caught by the Police.

The arrested have been identified as Annadurai (42), Veeramalai alias Kumar (40) and Babu (34) from Salem District of Tamil Nadu. Electronic items worth Rs. 5 Lakh have been seized.

The trio had recently broken the lock of a school under Jnanabharathi Police Station limits and stole computers and other items. A case has been registered in this regard and three accused have been arrested, Police said.

All three are from the same village and have taken up the art of stealing. In 2001, computers and other items were stolen from schools and colleges in Fraser Town. Since then, they have committed thefts in five to six police stations limits in the City and various police stations including Kolar and Davanagere. They used to make money by selling stolen goods, Police said.
