Bengaluru to Experience Heavy Rain and Thunderstorms from December 8, IMD Warns
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted heavy rainfall and thunderstorms in Bengaluru, starting from December 8. The city is currently experiencing temperatures ranging from 18°C to 24°C, contributing to a noticeably cooler climate.
Thunderstorms are expected to persist in Bengaluru until December 10, with moderate to heavy downpours anticipated during this period. Since the onset of Cyclone Fengal, temperatures have dropped, bringing some relief from the usual warmth. While Bengaluru has seen lighter rainfall, coastal areas of Karnataka have been severely impacted by the cyclone, experiencing more intense rain, as reported by The Times of India.
Although Cyclone Fengal is weakening, its effects will continue to influence the region’s weather. From December 8 to December 10, temperatures in Bengaluru will range from 19°C to 27°C, with intermittent rain and cloudy skies. Meteorologists will closely monitor the situation as the cyclone continues to dissipate.
Local authorities in Bengaluru are on high alert and prepared to respond to any changes in the weather. Schools in the city will remain open, but safety measures may be implemented if necessary. In contrast, Dakshina Kannada schools were closed on December 3 due to severe rainfall, highlighting the potential need for precautions.
Residents are advised to exercise caution during the rainy days, particularly while traveling, as public safety remains a priority for both the IMD and local authorities.
