Bengaluru: Breezy and partly cloudy conditions
Bengaluru weather today, Wednesday, September 24, 2025, remained pleasant with temperatures hovering between 20°C and 28°C. As of 1:30 PM, the city recorded 25°C under partly cloudy skies, with humidity at 74% and winds blowing at 24 km/h from the west-northwest.
Atmospheric pressure remained steady between 1008–1012 mb with 88% cloud coverage, while visibility stood at 10 km. Despite the cloud cover, the UV index reached 8, categorised as very high, prompting experts to recommend sun protection during clearer intervals.
IMD forecast: Afternoon showers and thunderstorms
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted light to moderate rain accompanied by thundershowers across Bengaluru on Wednesday afternoon. Passing showers are expected between 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM with a 39–56% probability of rainfall.
Thunderstorms may bring gusty winds of up to 30–40 km/h in Bengaluru Urban and Rural districts, as well as other parts of South Interior Karnataka. Mostly cloudy skies are forecast overnight following these showers.
Air quality remains moderate
According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), Bengaluru’s Air Quality Index (AQI) stood between 52 and 67, categorised as ‘Moderate’. PM2.5 concentrations ranged from 15–18 µg/m³ while PM10 levels measured 51–52 µg/m³. Nitrogen dioxide (NO₂) and particulate matter remained the city’s main pollutants.
Current pollutant readings included carbon monoxide at 315–376 ppb, sulphur dioxide at 2–4 ppb, and nitrogen dioxide at 9–12 ppb. These levels pose minimal health risks for the general population, though sensitive groups were advised to remain cautious during extended outdoor activities.

Karnataka-wide rainfall activity
Across Karnataka, widespread rainfall activity has been reported. Coastal districts such as Udupi and Uttara Kannada recorded heavy rainfall at isolated locations. Both North and South Interior Karnataka continued to receive light to moderate rain with thundershowers.
