Bengaluru Traffic Police (BTP) has officially discontinued the PublicEye app and will now depend solely on the BTP ASTraM platform for reporting traffic violations and incidents. PublicEye, previously developed in partnership with iChangeMyCity, has been phased out as part of this transition.
Authorities are urging citizens to install the ASTraM app, available on both Google Play and the App Store. This upgraded platform offers a range of features, including violation reporting, real-time traffic alerts, and online fine payments, streamlining public engagement in traffic management.
Earlier, PublicEye allowed users to discreetly capture and submit photographs of traffic infractions, such as riding on footpaths or triple-riding. These reports were verified at the Traffic Management Centre on Infantry Road, where violations were logged against the offender’s vehicle registration. This essential function has now been incorporated into ASTraM to ensure uninterrupted oversight of road discipline.
By consolidating traffic monitoring into a single, enhanced application, BTP aims to improve efficiency in handling violations and encourage greater public participation in maintaining order on Bengaluru’s busy streets.
