The Bengaluru Traffic Police (BTP) imposed fines totaling Rs 6.395 lakh during a special operation against traffic violations on Tuesday, which ran from 11 am to 4 pm.
A breakdown of the fines reveals Rs 1.88 lakh was collected for 372 no-entry violations, while Rs 1.56 lakh came from 311 cases of driving against one-way traffic. Additionally, Rs 1.02 lakh was gathered for 64 offenses involving mobile phone use while driving, and Rs 90,500 for 178 no-parking violations. The BTP also targeted offenders for other infractions, including triple riding, riding on footpaths, and parking on footpaths. In total, 1,130 violations were registered during the drive.
On Monday, the BTP conducted a crackdown on drunk driving, booking 120 offenders after checking 6,685 vehicles.
