In 2024, Bengaluru Traffic Police’s north division registered 159 cases of illegal wheelies, involving 134 two-wheeler riders, including 39 minors. Yelahanka traffic police recorded the most violations (32), followed by Hebbal (30) and Devanahalli (29). Cases were filed against 37 guardians of the minors for negligence.

Strict enforcement led to the suspension of 49 registration certificates and 20 driving licences. Additionally, 44 cases were filed under Section 107 of the CrPC and Section 126 of the BNS for disturbing public peace.

The west division reported 577 drunk driving cases between December 19 and 30. Police checked 36,416 vehicles during the crackdown, forwarding the offenders’ licences to the Regional Transport Office (RTO) for suspension.

These measures reflect Bengaluru’s commitment to ensuring road safety and maintaining order during high-traffic periods.
