Bengaluru: With the countdown for the general transfer of government primary and secondary school teachers for the year 2022 – 23 beginning, the Education Department has asked the officials to make necessary preparations.

In 2021 – 22, the process of zonal transfer/re-allocation of additional teachers was dropped due to Covid – 19 pandemic. Now, preparations are underway to announce the guidelines and schedule for the redistribution of additional teachers. The process has to be completed without any hassles. Therefore, Deputy Director of Public Instruction and Block Education Officer should upload the required information. The transfer process will have to be conducted online and the final priority list will be published by following the steps taken by publishing the marks of the teachers, filing of objections, etc. Thereafter, the process will be conducted through counselling.

The delay in the process was due to the fact that the transfer case of last year was in court. Therefore, o-going cases in ten court can be avoided by giving proper reply to the requests/objections submitted by the teacher. In this regard, it has already taken note of the verdict of the Karnataka Administrative Tribunal (KAT) regarding the transfer and directed the petitioner teachers to write back the rules which are in force urgently.

Strict action will be taken against the officials who are irresponsible in not acting as per the rules, the department said.

The schedule for preparation for the year 2022 – 23 has been announced. The draft weightage list of all teachers was published online on Wednesday October 12. Based on this, the objections received from the teachers should be examined and uploaded along with the documents in the Teacher Mitra software by October 20. The final list of teachers will be announced on October 25.

Preparations are being made for the transfer of teachers. Once the Governor passes the Teachers’ Transfer Act, which has been introduced in the House, the process will be initiated by framing a law.
