Bengaluru: Two Lives Lost in Separate Road Accidents
Two tragic road accidents claimed the lives of a senior citizen and a daily wage worker in Bengaluru on Saturday.
In the first incident, Thomas Antony, 70, a Kerala native visiting his daughter, was fatally injured when a speeding truck hit his scooter at Rayasandra, Electronics City. Antony had taken his three-year-old granddaughter to buy chocolates and was returning home on a gearless scooter when the truck rammed them from behind. Both were thrown onto the road. While the child escaped with minor injuries, Antony succumbed to his injuries later that night at a private hospital.
The second accident occurred on Thanisandra Main Road, where an unidentified vehicle struck 54-year-old daily wage worker Kishore Mirad as he crossed the road near his home. The driver fled the scene without stopping.
Police are investigating both accidents, with efforts underway to identify the hit-and-run driver involved in Mirad’s case.
These incidents underscore the persistent dangers on Bengaluru’s roads and highlight the urgent need for stricter enforcement of traffic regulations to ensure public safety.
