Bengaluru: Two Women Killed in Separate Tragedies in Karnataka
In the first incident near Bengaluru, a 48-year-old man, Basavachari, allegedly ended his life after reportedly fatally assaulting his wife, Suma, 36, with a metal dumbbell. The couple, parents to two sons aged 14 and 12, had been residing in Maruthi Nagar, Vijayapura town. The tragedy came to light when their elder son returned home from school on Tuesday afternoon and found both his parents deceased. Authorities believe a domestic dispute, possibly related to a property matter, led to a heated argument. Suma was found with severe injuries in the bedroom, while Basavachari’s body was discovered in the hall. Police have launched a detailed investigation into the circumstances.
In a separate case from Chikkamagaluru district, a 32-year-old man, Avinash, allegedly stabbed his wife, Keerthi, 26, following a disagreement. The couple, who had been married for four years after a love relationship, had reportedly been experiencing frequent conflicts. The incident occurred on Tuesday at their residence near the Kaimara check post. Keerthi suffered multiple stab wounds. Avinash is currently absconding, and police are actively searching for him.
Both incidents underscore the urgent need for conflict resolution mechanisms and mental health support within families to prevent such irreversible tragedies. Authorities urge individuals facing domestic stress to seek help and speak up before matters escalate.
