Bengaluru: Officers of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) carried out simultaneous raids at 32 locations across the city in connection with the August 11 violence that claimed the lives of four persons and left several injured.
It can be recalled that the mob attacked a police station and Pulakeshinagar MLA Akhanda Shrinivas Murthy’s house.
According to sources, the raids started on early on Thursday morning and is still underway. “The NIA team is divided into smaller teams and is carrying out search operations in many places. Most of the areas being searched are in east Bengaluru,” the source said.
The BJP and pro-Hindu organisations have been demanding an NIA investigation into this violence and alleged that foreign hands are behind the riots that took place late on August 11 night.
