
Bengaluru Welcomes New Year Peacefully Amid Tight Security
Bengaluru: Karnataka’s Home Minister, Dr. G. Parameshwara, praised the state police for ensuring a safe and incident-free New Year’s Eve celebration on Tuesday. The minister commended the comprehensive security measures implemented by law enforcement, which contributed to the smooth conduct of festivities across the city.
Dr. Parameshwara met with senior police officials, including State Police Director General Alok Mohan, DGP M.A. Salim, Bengaluru City Police Commissioner B. Dayanand, and ADGPs Hitendra, Hemant Nimbalkar, Alok Kumar, Seemant Kumar Singh, Umesh, and Sarathchandra. The officials lauded the effective execution of security plans that upheld public safety and order.
Addressing reporters, Dr. Parameshwara stated, “The New Year celebrations concluded without a single untoward incident. Our police force displayed exemplary vigilance and efficiency in maintaining law and order.”
The minister also commented on ongoing investigations into high-profile cases. Regarding BJP leader C.T. Ravi, he confirmed that the CID is leading the inquiry and will decide on further procedures, including conducting a mahazar.
On allegations against Minister Priyank Kharge in the contractor Sachin Panchal suicide case, Dr. Parameshwara reaffirmed Kharge’s non-involvement. He assured that the investigation is progressing, adding, “We will provide further updates once the report is finalized.”
The peaceful celebrations highlight the effectiveness of Bengaluru’s law enforcement in managing large-scale events while addressing critical ongoing investigations.
