With rising temperatures becoming a daily concern in the city, a Bengaluru woman has gone viral after booking a hotel room near her home simply to enjoy air conditioning for a day.

The unusual yet relatable move has sparked widespread discussion on social media, where many residents are sharing how they are coping with the unexpected heat.

Video gains massive attention

Priya Pal recently shared a video on Instagram showing herself relaxing inside a hotel room to escape the uncomfortable weather outside.

The clip included the caption: “We booked a hotel next to our house only for this in Bengaluru,” a line that quickly connected with viewers dealing with similar discomfort.

Why she chose a hotel stay

Later, Priya explained that she initially expected rain to bring relief, but it never arrived. She said attempts to buy an air conditioner or cooler failed due to stock shortages and delayed deliveries.

According to her, rental cooling appliances were also unavailable in her area because of high demand. As a result, she booked a nearby hotel room and spent the day indoors watching shows and relaxing.

She also added a short caption expressing her frustration with the heat.

Social media reacts with humour

The video drew a wave of reactions, with many users saying the decision actually made practical sense. Some described it as a “smart hack”, while others joked that Bengaluru’s weather had shocked residents this year.

Several users also pointed out a wider shortage of coolers and AC units in many areas as demand rises.

Heat becomes city talking point

Bengaluru, once known for its pleasant climate, has recently seen warmer days becoming more frequent. The viral post reflects how changing weather patterns are affecting daily life and pushing residents to find creative solutions.
