Bengaluru: Following the relaxation of Covid-19 restrictions in Bengaluru, the city’s pollution levels have returned to pre-pandemic levels in 2019, according to data.
The data of the Karnataka State Pollution Control Board, the AQI improved by 35.26 percent during the lockdown compared to ordinary days.
“While most people assume transportation is the largest source of pollution in Bengaluru, other activities like construction, destruction, and the dust that rises with traffic is a substantial concern that effects AQI,” a KSPCB technical official stated.
