Bengaluru: After the state and the central budget, now it is the turn of the BBMP budget. According to the BBMP sources, the BBMP budget will be presented either on February 25 or on 27.
According to the BBMP sources, as per the original schedule, the BBMP standing committee on finance and tax had decided to present the budget on February 15, but now due to various reasons including Aero India, it has been decided to present the budget on February 25 or 27.
Sources claim that the BBMP budget size will be Rs.10,000 crores. “The standing committee on Finance approved a budget size of Rs 8,300 crores, but keep in mind upcoming Lok Sabha elections, it has been decided to increase the budget size to Rs.10,000 crores. The BBMP wants to announce a slew of popular schemes to ensure that the JDS-Congress coalition, which is in power in the BBMP will get more number of seats in the city limits. Presently, all the three seats have the BJP MPs,” informed an officer from the BBMP.
