Bengaluru: It seems there is no end to the scams in the BBMP, which has the annual turn over of over Rs.10,000 crores and now it is said that the BBMP had executed work worth Rs 5000 crore without issuing any job codes. The government has decided to hold a probe on this allegation.
In what is now touted as the biggest scam ever recorded in the BBMP, the BBMP has already given work orders for these Rs.5,000 cr works that include white tapping roads, stormwater drainage works etc. “CM BS Yediyurappa has ordered an investigation,” explained a BBMP source.
“Job code is a must for all the works executed by the BBMP. But these works are taken up without a job code,” explained sources. However, contradicting this, Ravi Kumar Surapura, BBMP special commissioner (projects) informed that as these works are taken up under the state government funding there is no need of any job code.
However, Mayor Gangambike Mallikarjun and Commissioner Manjunath Prasad have said that they are not aware of these works at all.
