In a recent investigation, Bengaluru police uncovered a surprising motive behind a bike theft operation in the city. The primary suspect, Ashok, known by the alias Apple, had turned to stealing bikes after struggling financially. Formerly a fruit vendor, Ashok targeted KTM and Pulsar bikes across different parts of Bengaluru.

The investigation gained momentum when Ashok and his accomplice Satish stole a bike from a software engineer in Giri Nagar. Police discovered that Ashok had a history of crime with 15 cases against him, having been released from jail just a month earlier.

However, what stunned authorities was the reason behind Ashok’s crimes. During questioning, Ashok revealed that he had used all the money from his bike thefts to fund the treatment of a cancer survivor. The recipient was the wife of Ashok’s friend, who had sheltered him after his own wife had left him following criminal activities.

According to a report , Ashok described it as an act of gratitude towards the couple who had supported him during a difficult period. This unexpected revelation left the Bengaluru police both surprised and moved.

Meanwhile, Ashok’s partner in crime, Satish, was also revealed to be a habitual offender with over 40 cases against him, including charges of murder and robbery. The duo had been selling stolen bikes throughout the city, leading to the recovery of ten such bikes during the investigation.
