A birthday party turned crime scene early Sunday as Bengaluru police arrested 31 individuals, including seven women and a Chinese national, for possessing and consuming narcotic substances at a farmhouse near Kannamangala Gate.

Acting on a tip-off, law enforcement officials raided the location at 5 am, discovering a group allegedly high on banned substances. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Northeast Zone), V J Sajeeth, confirmed the arrest of both drug users and peddlers.

According to the DCP, blood and urine samples have been taken from the suspects and sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL). Among the seized items were small quantities of cocaine, hashish, and hydro ganja.

“Preliminary findings reveal that all 31 people present at the party were from the private IT sector,” said Sajeeth, highlighting the alarming presence of white-collar professionals in narcotic-related offenses.

A case has been filed under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, and further investigation is in progress.

This high-profile bust comes amid growing concerns about drug culture infiltrating professional spaces, prompting calls for stricter surveillance and awareness.
