Bengaluru: BJP state president BS Yeddyurappa announced the elevation of Tejaswini Anant Kumar as its state vice-president, which he also tweeted on Tuesday.
Tejaswini Anant Kumar was the front runner for BJP ticket in the Bangalore South constituency, but the party allotted the ticket to young leader Tejaswi Surya from Yuva Morcha.
The decision to elevate Tejaswini was taken when party president Amit Shah visited the city on Tuesday. It is seen as a bid to pacify the party workers who were agitated for giving the party ticket to Tejaswi Surya in the Bangalore South constituency.
It can be noted that Tejaswini was reluctant to campaign when the candidate for Bangalore South constituency was announced. She had also expressed her desire to go back and work for her NGO Adamya Chetana and tweeted about checking the steam generator installation in the NGO’s kitchen.
