Bengaluru: Several prominent BJP state unit leaders led by union minister D V Sadananda Gowda have lodged a complaint against former DCM R Ashok with party high command over poor turnout in the inaugural event of ambitious Parivarthana Yatra.
According to the party leaders, several leaders including three city MLAs have signed the complaint letter.
It can be recalled that in the inaugural event of Parivarthana Yatra which was inaugurated by the party national president Amit Shah in Bengaluru witnessed very low turnout on November 2 embarrassing the party state and national leadership. Union railway minister Piyush Goel was seen requesting the activists to be seated at the venue when most of them resorted to leaving the programme. More than half the seats were vacant at the event.
In their complaint letter, these Bengaluru based leaders have alleged that R Ashok was given the complete responsibility of holding the rally and he deliberately tried to make the event a flop. R Ashok has the capacity to organise more than 3 lakh people at a time. “Still he didn’t show interest,” stated in the letter.
