Bengaluru: Karnataka state politics is taking nail-biting turns after an audio clip around alleged Operation Kamala took centre stage.

The alleged conversation between BJP state chief BS Yeddyurappa and a JDS MLA’s son has taken the state by storm and Assembly Speaker K R Ramesh Kumar has directed the CM to have a SIT probe into the sordid affair.

If this was not enough, yet another audio clip has surfaced and this time, lone BJP MLA from Gowda fiefdom of Hassan district, Preetham Gowda, is said to be making derogatory remarks against JDS Supremo HD Devegowda and his CM son HD Kumaraswamy.

In the leaked voice clip, Preetham Gowda allegedly says that JDS is going to be history because Devegowda will be dying soon and CM Kumaraswamy too is unwell.

As soon as the clipping was out, angry JDS workers attacked Preetham Gowda’s residence in Hassan city injuring a supporter of the BJP. The police had to resort to lathicharge to disperse the crowd and bring the situation under control, on Tuesday. Preetham Gowda has said that the JDS was trying to finish him and his family.

Meanwhile, leader of the Opposition Yeddyurappa has warned the HDK government that he would travel to Hassan to take on the Gowda clan.

HDK urges for peace

Chief Minister Kumaraswamy has urged the JDS workers to maintain peace and not resort to taking law in their hands. He has also instructed Hassan DC and SP to maintain law and order.

According to police, the situation is tense in Hassan and they have deployed more force to maintain law and order.
