Bengaluru: The BJP has mocked Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy as an ‘accidental CM’ for going abroad with his family to celebrate New Year.
The party’s state unit in a tweeted, “If there was a movie titled #AccidentalCM, who will play the role of @hd_kumaraswamy?”
“After new govt was formed 377 farmers have ended their lives, 156 talukas declared drought-hit, loan waiver has still not been done, Karnataka has slipped to a debt ridden state and here we have the so called son of soil CM @hd_kumaraswamy celebrating new year in Singapore,” stated the party’s state unit in another tweet.
The tweet was posted after the Chief Minister’s office stated that Kumaraswamy was going abroad late on Friday night with family on a personal visit and would return to Bengaluru on January 1.
An official told IANS that the Chief Minister flew to Singapore with his wife Anita and son Nikhil on a holiday, as he has been going every year-end over the years.
The BJP has coined the phrase ‘Accidental CM’ on the lines of a Bollywood biopic ‘Accidental PM’ on the life of former Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, which is yet to be released. Popular actor Anupam Kher plays Singh’s role in the biopic.
