Bengaluru: BJP state president B.Y. Vijayendra has strongly criticised the Congress government in Bengaluru, accusing them of irresponsibility in addressing the rising violence against women. He asserted that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah may have to resign due to the severity of the issue, which, according to him, cannot be ignored.

Vijayendra made these remarks while inaugurating a state-level workshop of the BJP Mahila Morcha at the Jagannath Bhawan, BJP State Office, Malleswaram. He emphasised that the people of the state are growing increasingly frustrated with the government’s inaction and that it is the duty of the opposition to stand up for the people when the government enacts anti-people policies.

He pointed to the increase in violence against women since the Congress government came to power, referencing controversies such as the Valmiki Corporation scam and the MUDA scam. Vijayendra underscored the importance of the Chief Minister, Home Minister, and other Ministers in effectively addressing violence against women, suggesting that they have failed in their responsibilities.

The BJP leader’s strong words reflect the growing concern over women’s safety in the state and the perceived inadequacy of the government’s response to the issue.
