Bengaluru: The BJP has decided to field former MLA Y A Narayanaswamy from South-East Teachers’ constituency.
The decision was taken in the meeting held under the leadership of BJP State President B S Yeddyurappa here on Sunday. Earlier, the ticket was given to Lepakshi.
Narayanaswamy is not new to the constituency. He was elected for two terms from South-East Teachers’ constituency. After the death of Hebbal MLA Jagadish Kumar in 2016, he contested for the by-polls and won it. But, he lost the constituency to S.Suresh (Bairathi) of Congress in 2018.
After the resignation of Narayanaswamy, Ramesh Babu of JDS won from the South-East Teachers’ constituency. Now, the election will be held for six constituencies including this, on June 8. JDS has given the ticket to Ramesh Babu once again.
