Bengaluru: The BJP state unit will hold a state-wide protest against the police for cracking down on BJP activists, on Monday. As part of the state-wide protest, the BJP activists will hold a dharna in all the district and taluk headquarters.
The BJP’s allegation is that, as per the directions of home minister M B Patil, the CID cyber police are raiding BJP activists and arresting them. The party is demanding an end to police action against social media posts of party activists and RSS sympathisers.
In Bengaluru, former DCM R Ashok will lead the protest. He will hold a dharna at the Mysuru Bank Circle in the city at 11.30 AM.
It can be recalled that recently, the CID cyber cell police arrested journalist Hemanth Kumar for his alleged role in the circulation of a forged letter of home minister M B Patil in connection with the issue of minority status to the Lingayat community.
