Bengaluru: Opposition leader in Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge alleged that BJP’s work is to sell what Congress has built for decades.
He was speaking at the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) office in the city on the occasion of the death anniversary of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi. He claimed that the BJP had weakened BSNL and was selling the company to a private entity.
“The main job of the BJP is to change names. They have no idea of their own. Jaipur is hosting the Chinthana Shibira. PM Modi has stated that workers should go to each house and convey to people about the BJP’s work. This implies that the citizens of the country are unaware of his activities.
He further said that Rajiv Gandhi is a great leader who influenced young people. “Many world leaders and governments were drawn to our non-alignment policy after he spoke at an international gathering in Vienna, and they decided not to side with either America or Russia,” Kharge added.
“Karnataka distributed lakhs of acres of land to the poor. After forming a tribunal, we gave land to 6.60 lakh poor people. We helped many people in the coastal area. But, unfortunately, they are now against Congress party.”
