- Bengaluru: The City Railway Station is all set to market Channapattana toys under the One Station, One Product scheme announced under Central Budget: 2022-23. Bengaluru Divisional Railway Manager Shyam Singh inaugurated the Channapatna toys’ stall on Friday March 25.
In a statement, the South Western Railway Authorities inform that Bengaluru Division has allotted a stall on pilot basis for promotion of Channapattana toys to V. Prakash, a local craftsman associated with Channapattana Handicrafts Artists’ Association. The statement added that this is an initiative by Ministry of Railways, and aims at promoting local products in Railway stations under Atma Nirbhar Bharat Abhiyan.
Channapattana toys originates from the Channapattana Village in Ramanagara Taluk, and enjoys Geographical Indicator (GI) tag.
