Bengaluru: Kamakshipalya police arrested a 37-year-old man for sexually harassing over 100 women, including women advocates and police officers, by sending obscene messages and videos.
According to sources, the accused, Divya Raj, who went by different names, including Krishna, Ramakrishna, Manjunath, Chool, Prashanth and Praveen, is a native of Madugiri in Tumakuru District.
Over 14 cases against him have been filed in various police stations. He had also challenged the police to arrest him, and he had been evading arrest for the last six months, informed police sources.
The officers found that he was harassing women by making calls and sending obscene messages and videos to them on WhatsApp.
Those who have been harassed by the jurisdictional DCP have been asked to approach the police.
Raj confessed to the police that harassing women gave him a thrill. Some of the victims are also in physical relationship with him. Raj would gather the contact details of female advocates under the pretext of getting legal support for his friends. Similarly, under the pretext of assisting women with complaints, he would call police stations to gather contact information for female officers.
