Bengaluru: A case has been filed with the Karnataka State Human Rights Commission (SHRC) alleging that city police assaulted Bengali migrant workers.
According to sources, the Hebbagodi police barged into garbage segregation units in Shikari Palya run by Bengali Muslims on June 17 and 18 and assaulted the residents there to make them leave the city.
Rabbani Sardar (52) and Anees (38), both Bengali Muslims from Murshidabad, filed a complaint alleging that their property was damaged during police raids on their premises.
