The three accused persons who hit Tikait with a television microphone and threw black ink on him at a press conference here on Monday are being held in custody for seven days. They will be questioned in custody, informed police.
Tikait was holding a press conference at the Gandhi Bhavan on May 30 when a man posing as a journalist rushed to the platform and attacked Tikait with a microphone under the guise of changing microphones. Another person approached from behind and smeared black ink on Tikait’s face.
The organisers and the miscreants soon began fighting and assaulting one other with plastic chairs. Tikait said that the attack was carried out with the government’s consent.
