Bengaluru: Following the attack on Jawaharlal Nehru University students and teachers by masked individuals, students and teachers in Bengaluru staged a protest at the Town Hall as a show of solidarity on Monday, January 6.

During the stir, slogans were raised against Union Home Minister Amit Shah and the Delhi police for the incident. Some of the placards read “The more you attack, the stronger we become”, “Take off your masks terrorist” and “With JNU”.

The protesters blamed the Delhi police for not taking “charge of the situation long before”. “They should not have waited for three hours. We stand with JNU,” a protestor told ANI.

It can be recalled that masked individuals attacked students and teachers at JNU with sticks and rods and videos of the incident went viral, sparking widespread outrage. More than 18 students were rushed to the AIIMS Trauma Centre for treatment.
