Bengaluru: A Bengaluru-based surgeon was offloaded from an Indigo Airlines flight in light of safety protocols for alleged unruly behaviour and use of the word ‘hijack’ on the Lucknow to Bengaluru flight 6E 541 on Tuesday morning.
The passenger, Saurabh Rai had complained about mosquitoes on the flight to the cabin crew members. However, before the cabin crew could address his concern, Rai, according to a statement released by the airline started abusive language. The matter worsened when the airline shut the aircraft exits and the surgeon tried to provoke other passengers to damage the aircraft and even mentioned the word ‘hijack’.
The crew members notified the pilot-in-command of the situation in hand, in line with the safety protocols of the airline who then decided to off load the passenger.
Rai, a heart surgeon however has a different story to tell. According to him the Indigo staff treated him badly. “I was manhandled, threatened and offloaded from the aircraft as I raised objections about the mosquitoes,” he said.
