Boiler Blast in Bidadi Injures Five Workers, Three Critical
Five workers were severely injured following a boiler explosion on Saturday evening at a factory in Bengaluru’s Bidadi industrial area.
The injured—Umesh, Tarun, Amalesh, Santoon, and Lakhan—aged between 30 and 35, hail from various parts of North India. Around 4:30 PM, while the workers were addressing a blockage in the boiler during a routine process, the machine exploded. The factory, which collaborates with the BBMP to generate power from dry waste, usually employs over 100 workers, but only five were present at the time of the incident.
The security guard promptly alerted authorities and arranged for the injured to be taken to Victoria Hospital. Police reported that three of the workers are in critical condition.
A negligence case has been filed against the factory manager as investigations into the incident continue.
