Bomb Hoax Triggers Security Scare at Bengaluru Airport
Security was heightened at Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport late Wednesday night after authorities received an alarming email threatening a bomb attack. According to police, the email claimed that two explosive devices had been planted—one under “Plan A” and another under “Plan B” as a backup if the first failed.
The sender, identifying as a terrorist, stated that one of the bombs was hidden inside a pipeline located in a restroom within the airport. In response, airport security and law enforcement immediately initiated a comprehensive sweep of the premises.
Despite the chilling threat, airport operations remained mostly undisturbed as specialized teams combed through the area. After an exhaustive search, officials confirmed that no bombs or suspicious objects were discovered, confirming the threat to be a hoax.
A formal case has been filed, and investigators are actively working to trace the origin of the email and identify the person behind the false alarm. Police are treating the matter seriously, noting the potential risk such hoaxes pose to public safety and emergency response systems.
Authorities emphasized the importance of both advanced surveillance tools and stricter legal consequences to deter similar incidents in the future.
