Udupi: Karnataka Home Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Thursday, May 20 hinted the state government will undertake stricter measures in the upcoming days to curb the surge of COVID-19 cases.
Bommai while speaking to media persons said that people in the state were not following the state government’s lockdown guidelines and we’re breaching the COVID protocol.
“As the number of cases in rural areas increasing, Deputy Commissioners in different districts have implemented strict lockdown measures; people should understand the severity of the situation and cooperate,” he added.
Karnataka announced a lockdown from May 10-24 which is likely to be extended. However, the decision to extend the lockdown will be put out by Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa on May 23.
