Bengaluru: Opposition Leader in the Assembly Siddaramaiah on Saturday January 29, said the booklet released on the occasion, highlighting his government’s achievements, was more of a promise.
“The BJP government led by Bommai is just as accountable for the party’s 2018 election manifesto as his predecessor B. S. Yediyurappa. It was promised that Rs. 1.5 lakh crore would be spent on irrigation project implementation, equivalent to Rs. 30,000 crore per year, but the Bommai government only spent Rs. 6,300 crore in the financial year.
Speaking to mediapersons he said that all of the old schemes, such as upgrading 25 district hospitals and 750 schools, building five lakh houses for the needy, and expanding the Amrith Yojna to include more Gram Panchayats, were renamed.
With only Rs. 1,200 crore granted to date against the action plan and with a few months left in the financial year, the government’s pledge of spending Rs. 3,000 crore for the development of the Kalyana Karnataka region appears doubtful, he said.
“It’s a continuation of the government led by B. S. Yediyurappa. Letting corruption prevail is the Bommai government’s only achievement,” he added.
